King George VI died in 1952 the same year that these Coombs/Wilson Ten Pound banknotes were printed by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
As this was a one-year issue these notes were printed in very small numbers. Ten quid was a lot of money during this era approximately a fortnights wage.
