$1 Subscription 1998 New Parliament Silver Proof
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the New Parliament House the Royal Australian Mint created this proof one Troy ounce fine silver $1 coin. Incorporated in the design is a replica of the 1988 Commemorative $5 issued at the time the building was opened. The coin is housed encapsulated in a blue leatherette hinged lid presentation case protected by a colourful cardboard shipper and accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity.
